Rotana Hotel Group’s expansion plan for Saudi Arabia will result in adding 1500 jobs and 4100 rooms and suites to the Saudi hospitality sector by 2016. This boost in numbers will be evident with the opening of the upcoming Rosh Rayhaan by Rotana Hotel in Riyadh during Q1 of 2014.
The property will offer 236 rooms and suites along with facilities such as a health club, ballroom, meeting centres, and four restaurants offering a choice of Arabic and international cuisines.
Rosh Rayhaan by Rotana will be Rotana’s second hotel in the Kingdom, having opened its first hotel in Makkah, Al Marwa Rayhaan by Rotana. Al Marwa Rayhaan by Rotana includes 480 luxury rooms and suites, fine dining restaurants and is connected to a shopping mall.
Expressing his optimism, Selim El Zyr, president and CEO of Rotana said: “The Saudi hospitality sector continues to enjoy robust growth based on religious tourism, which currently constitutes 75% of all passenger traffic in the Kingdom; increasing domestic tourism; and an increasing number of business travellers as a result of the surge commercial and construction activities.”
The group is further expanding into the relatively new mid-range and budget hotel sector with the opening of four hotels under the Centro Hotels by Rotana brand in Riyadh, Al-Khobar, Dammam and Jeddah. Centro Hotels caters well for large corporate entities, small and medium business owners, and individual travellers.
