Qatar Airways has launched its second route to the Philippines.
The airline touched down at Clark International Airport on Monday 28 October2013, following a direct flight from Doha, to mark the start of a new daily service. This will complement the airline’s existing twice daily flights between Doha and Manila.
“Qatar Airways has reached yet another key milestone in the Philippines, with the launch of additional daily flights to this fast-growing country,” said Woo Yew Seong, the airline’s senior vice president of commercial operations, on arrival in Clark.
“With our new offering, business and leisure travellers to the Luzon area have great connections via Doha from many popular destinations, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Kuwait, Muscat, Dammam, Riyadh, Montreal, New York, London and Paris.”
The Clark route will be operated using a two-class Airbus A330 aircraft with 284 seats – 36 in business class and 248 in economy.
Clark becomes Qatar Airways’ 12th gateway in Southeast Asia, following Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Bali, Ho Chi Minh City, Phnom Penh, Jakarta, Hanoi, Singapore, Manila, Yangon and Phuket. The entire Asian region now represents around 30% of the airline’s global network.
