Toga Hotels will assume management of 11 Rendezvous-branded properties in Australia and New Zealand.

This portfolio expansion stems from the recent joint venture between Toga and Singapore’s Far East Hospitality, which recently assumed control of the Rendezvous brand.

Toga will initially take over the management of the Rendezvous Grand Hotel Perth Scarborough, Rendezvous Studio Hotel Perth Central, Rendezvous Grand Hotel Melbourne and Rendezvous Grand Hotel Adelaide – four of the 11 Rendezvous hotels currently operating in Australia and New Zealand.

“We are delighted to be working in partnership with Far East Hospitality to further extend our hotel management business to include Rendezvous Hotels into our portfolio. This joint venture marks an important milestone for Toga Hotels as we continue to expand our collection of hotels across Australia and New Zealand,” said Rachel Argaman, CEO of Toga Hotels.

Toga and Far East said the joint venture will enable the companies to “combine their financial resources to pursue more yield accretive acquisitions and growth opportunities”.

Late last month, Far East’s CEO, Arthur Kiong, announced that the company would add three new hotels in Singapore over the next three months, including the relaunch of the Rendezvous Hotel Singapore. He also noted that Far East would consider the possibility of bringing Toga’s Adina, Medina, Vibe and Travelodge brands to Southeast Asia.

“We are excited about starting this new chapter in Australia as we expand our geographic footprint together with Toga Hotels. As Asia Pacific will continue to lead as the fastest growing travel region, this strategic move allows us to be well placed to seize opportunities, while underscoring Far East Hospitality’s aggressive, yet disciplined approach in growth plans to expand beyond the Singapore market and into the region,” Kiong said.

Between them, Toga and Far East now operate 80 hotels across the world.
