Qatar Airways will launch flights to the Chinese city of Hangzhou next month.

Commencing on 20 December 2013, the airline will fly four times a week to the capital of eastern China’s Zhejiang province, direct from Doha. Flights will depart the Qatari capital every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 0203, getting into Hangzhou at 1540. The return service will depart at 2300, arriving back into Doha at 0430 the next day.

The route will be operated using an Airbus A330 with 260 seats – 24 in business class and 236 in economy.

“This year we celebrate 10 years of flying to China. The addition of our seventh route in China will provide additional connectivity for business and leisure travellers connecting from Asia, the Middle East and GCC countries. Just two months after the launch of the Chengdu service, we are able to offer our passengers even more options for flying into China with the addition of Hangzhou,” said Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways’ CEO.

Qatar Airways began operations to China in 2003 with the launch non-stop flights to Shanghai. Since then it has added services to Beijing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Chongqing, with direct flights Chengdu commencing in September 2013.
