AirAsia X has announced plans to fly to Nagoya – its third destination in Japan.
Commencing on 17 March 2014, the long-haul low-cost carrier will operate four weekly flights to the city’s Chubu Centrair International Airport, direct from Kuala Lumpur. Services will operate every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday using an Airbus A330-300 aircraft with 377 seats – 12 in business class and 365 in economy.
“We are excited to announce our latest route to Nagoya, marking our third destination into Japan. This marks another milestone for AirAsia X and reiterates our expansion commitment in the key markets we operate in with the Asia Pacific region,” said Azran Osman-Rani, CEO of AirAsia X.
“We believe Nagoya being a scenic and historical destination will be a popular tourist destination. We have carried over half a million passengers to and from Japan. Japan contributed over 14% of our total revenue in the first half of 2013,” he added.
Passengers flying from Japan to KL will also be able to use AirAsia’s ‘Fly Thru’ service, which offers connections to other AirAsia flights without the need to check-in twice.
Nagoya joins Tokyo and Osaka in AirAsia X’s Japanese network.
