Langham Hospitality Group has agreed to manage its first hotel in Jakarta.
The Hong Kong-based hotelier penned an agreement with Indonesia’s Agung Sedayu Group to operate a luxury hotel located in the District 8 complex – a new high-end complex which is currently under development in the centre of the city.
Scheduled to open in 2017, The Langham Jakarta will feature 170 rooms and 30 suites, ranging from 42 to 327m². There will also be 57 Langham Residences, set across 19 floors of the same tower.
Facilities at the hotel will include the brand’s Palm Court and T’ang Court restaurants, a sky bar, 670m² spa, fitness centre and indoor swimming pool. The hotel will also feature more than 2,100m² of meeting space, including a 900m² ballroom and 11 meeting rooms.
“The Indonesian capital has long been a key aspiration for Langham Hospitality Group and we have waited a long time to find the perfect opportunity to add to the Langham collection,” said Brett Butcher, Langham Hospitality’s CEO.
“The hotel and residences, both of which will bear The Langham name, will be an integral cornerstone in this new super complex of District 8. Together with the owning company Agung Sedayu Group, we look forward to creating a prestigious luxury lifestyle centre that will be a landmark in Jakarta.”
The launch of the Jakarta hotel will also mark Langham’s return to Southeast Asia, where it has been without a hotel since the rebranding of the Langham Place Samui.
