Philippine Airlines (PAL) has expanded its Middle Eastern network with the launch of services to two cities in Saudi Arabia – Riyadh and Dammam.
The new Manila-Riyadh service commenced on 1 December 2013, marking the airline’s return to the Saudi capital for the first time since 2011.
Flights will now operate four times a week, departing the Philippine capital’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport every Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, using a two-class, 414-seat Airbus A330-300 wide-body aircraft.
And tomorrow (3 December 2013), the national carrier will launch a new scheduled service to the Saudi port city of Dammam. Flights will operate three times a week, every Monday, Tuesday and Saturday direct from Manila, also using an A330. PAL last flew to Dammam in 2001.
PAL said the new flights will be “welcomed by Filipino expatriates, who number over 1.8 million in the Saudi Kingdom alone”.
PAL resumed flights to the Middle East in October 2013, with the launch of services to Abu Dhabi. It also recently launched services to Dubai using its low-cost unit, PAL Express.
