Paul Mellon has joined Funway Holidays as its new business development manager for the south west, south east, south west, London and south Wales. Mellon has previously held similar roles at Superbreak, Inghams, Wendy Wu and Western & Oriental. As part of the changes, Fiona Boss now handles the south east, London and Midlands while Gary McIntyre covers Scotland, north east, Northern Ireland and Yorkshire.
Philip Ashwell has joined The Travel Visa Company as head of sales. Ashwell has joined the travel provider from Virgin Holidays where he was national business development manager. He has also held roles at Thomas Cook Co-operative Travel and Midlands Co-op Travel. He joins as the Crewe-based company launches a new dedicated corporate division.
Rupert Hogg has been promoted to chief operating officer at Cathay Pacific. Hogg will take up the new role at the airline in March 2014 and taking over from Ivan Chu who will become chief executive. Hogg is currently director of sales and marketing at the airline which he has held since August 2010. In total he has worked within Cathay Pacific or its holding firm John Swire & Sons for 27 years.
Kyle Ferguson has been appointed to the new role of chief commercial officer at Spendvision. Ferguson has been with Spendvision since 2012 and will now be responsible for implementing its growth strategy including sales, regional managers, customer operations, marketing and communications for the transaction management company.
Shana Lee has been named chief marketing officer at Choose Chicago. Lee will be responsible for driving sales and marketing at the tourism board to capitalise on a recent growth in leisure visitors and to introduce a business travel strategy.
