Seychelles Tourism Board had organised a familiarisation trip for tour operators from India. The objective behind this trip was to create an understanding about the destination and establish relations for the Indian trade with the private sector in Seychelles.
Speaking about the initiative, Sherin Naiken, CEO of Seychelles Tourism Board said, “India is an important emerging market for us and we want the Indian traveller to appreciate all that Seychelles has to offer. Though traditionally Seychelles has been associated with gorgeous beaches, it has much more than just that. The travel trade is our key partner who will help us achieve this. Hence, it is imperative for us to provide the trade community first-hand experience of the destination.”
Lubaina Sheerazi, Head for Blue Square Consultants and Seychelles Tourist Office in India said, “The FAM trip was successful in achieving its objective which was to showcase the uniqueness and diversity of Seychelles islands and facilitate interaction between the travel trade in both countries. We will continue to work very closely with the trade to help them design market sensitive products and itineraries for Indian travelers to see and enjoy various aspects of Seychelles.”
During the trip the agents explored 4 islands of Seychelles – Mahé, La Digue, Praslin and Moyenne.
