Swiss-Belhotel International has unveiled plans to open three new hotels in China, doubling its portfolio in the country.

The Hong Kong-based hotel group currently operates three Chinese properties, in the second tier cities of Changchun, Hefei and Wuxi. And this expansion into mainland China’s emerging markets will continue in the next two years with the opening of new properties in Dongguan, Taiyuan and Haikou.

“The whole world has been captivated by China’s incredible economic growth and as more and more business people travel in to and around the country, Swiss-Belhotel International is working with our Chinese partners to provide them with the very best business facilities and services,” said Swiss-Belhotel’s chairman & president, Gavin Faull.

All scheduled to open in 2015, the three new properties will be the Swiss-Belhotel Dahe in Taiyuan, the capital of Shanxi province, the Grand Swiss-Belhotel Dongguan, in Guangdong province, and the Swiss-Belresort Nanlihu Haikou, in the southern island province of Hainan.

“This is an exciting time for the country, for the region and for Swiss-Belhotel International. As a global hotel management company we are continuing to expand our full roster of brands from two to five stars and China plays an important role in our future,” Faull added.

These three new Chinese hotels will add to Swiss-Belhotel’s existing portfolio of more than 120 hotels and resorts across Asia, Australasia and the Middle East.
