Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has seen its best start to the year this year since 2008.
The cruise line has reported an 80% increase in revenue for December 2013 year-on-year culminating in 13 January 2014 as its biggest sale day ever.
It turn of the year campaign has been significant to the success which has been promoted on television to showcase its Enjoyment Promise; Solo Cruising brochure and door-to-door transportation.
The campaign, which runs until 28 February, also includes its multi-buy sale.
“We, along with other cruise and holiday operators, have all felt the pinch over the past year, but our new sales figures are showing great promise for a fantastic cruise season,” said Fred. Olsen’s sales and marketing director Nathan Philpot.
“I think that, after a time of austerity, people are regaining their trust in the economy, and at this wintry time of the year, want an exotic holiday to look forward to. We are also pleased to see a 58% increase in bookings through the travel trade and that ‘Fred.’s Enjoyment Promise’ has drawn in a younger audience for Fred. Olsen. We are clearly hitting the mark with a high-quality, competitively-priced product.”
