Qatar Airways pushes for open skies in India

Qatar Airways is urging the government of India to open up the aviation market and enhance bilateral
agreements between the two countries.
“India is a huge country. It is an economic giant. It has potential that very few countries have. Unfortunately, the government regime does not allow free access to the Indian market,” Akbar Al Baker, Chief Executive of Qatar Airways was quoted by The National on the sidelines of launching its service to Sharjah.
Qatar Airways currently flies to 13 destinations in India; however the airline is keen to expand operations in the country.
