Dubai Holding unveils vertical marathon

Dubai Holding in partnership with Jumeirah Emirates Towers and in support of Al Jalila Foundation will conduct the vertical race and a fundraising event – The Dubai Holding Vertical Marathon. Around 250 fitness enthusiasts will ascend 265 metres up 1,334 stairs to the top of 52-floor office building on 11 April 2014.
Ahmad Bin Byat, chief executive officer of Dubai Holding, said: “We place a great emphasis on healthy living among employees, their families and the wider community. The Vertical Marathon is a key component of this.”
This race is a key pillar of Dubai Holding Corporate Wellness Programme that relies on education and targeted interventions to help change behaviours in ways conducive to health by focusing on balanced nutrition, physical activity, stress management and general health. Other events in the programme include the Dubai Marathon, the Dubai Women’s Run, the Global Corporate Challenge, blood donation drives and treks.
