Hurtigruten has unveiled a self-termed aggressive pricing strategy as part of its new 2015/16 programme.

The cruise line has reduced many prices on its cruise-only and inclusive packages and has also negotiated air fares from departure points around the UK.

Flight inclusive packages now start from GBP876 per person for a five-day cruise on a half-board basis, down from the GBP1, 052 starting price in its previous brochures.

Its cruise-only lead-in price on a six-day full-board cruise starts from GBP763 compared to GBP988 the previous year.

The programme also includes the cruise line’s Explorer and Coastal voyages for the first time since 2010 to help agents cross-sell.

“We want to drive early bookings and ensure our customers receive great value for money. Wherever possible we have reduced our prices and if you make comparisons with our main brochure last year, some are up to 30% less,” said Kathryn Beadle, managing director. “Our product is unique, so it is difficult to make comparisons with traditional cruise lines, but the new pricing structure reflects our determination to offer value for money in a competitive market.”
