Qatar Airways has continued to expand in the US, with the launch of flights to Philadelphia.
The inaugural service from Doha touched down at Philadelphia International Airport on Wednesday morning, carrying Qatar Airways’ CEO, Akbar Al Baker. He was greeted on arrival in the US city by Michael A. Nutter, the mayor of Philadelphia, and Mark Gale, CEO of Philadelphia International Airport.
“Today, Philadelphia joins our existing North American hubs: Chicago, New York, Washington DC, Houston and Montreal,” said Al Baker. “But only our newest gateway offers a unique, morning route to Doha, our earliest departure from North America, and provides passengers with unprecedented access to a new schedule of convenient connections to our entire global network.”
As mentioned by Al Baker, the new Doha-Philadelphia route is a morning service, departing the Qatari capital daily at 0105, and arriving in the US city at 0755. The return service will then leave Philadelphia at 1030, getting back into Doha at 0610 the following day.
All flights will be operated using a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft equipped with two cabins, with 42 seats in business class and 293 in economy.
Qatar Airways now operates 35 weekly flights to the US, including daily services to New York, Washington DC, Chicago, Houston and Philadelphia.
