AirAsia has significantly expanded its operations at Johor Bahru, with the launch of three new international routes from Malaysia’s southern city.
The low-cost carrier will now connect Johor’s Senai International Airport with the popular Indonesian destinations of Yogyakarta and Lombok, and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.
“Johor Bahru is one of our important hubs and we recognise its great potential in terms of route development and high demand for more international connectivity,” said AirAsia’s head of commercial, Spencer Lee.
“The three new routes from Johor Bahru to Yogyakarta, Lombok and Ho Chi Minh City signify our commitment in establishing enhanced connectivity for the people in the southern state of Peninsular Malaysia.”
The flights to Yogyakarta and HCMC will both operate four times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays), while the Lombok service will run three times a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays).
AirAsia also connects Johor with Jakarta, Bandung and Surabaya in Indonesia, as well as offering 91 weekly domestic flights to destinations including Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu.
