Holland America Line has revealed that two of its ships will be deployed in Asian waters for the 2014-15 season.
The 1,432-passenger ms Volendam and 1,404-passenger ms Rotterdam cruise liners will return to the region this winter, offering a series of itineraries in Northeast and Southeast Asia.
“As more travellers look to fulfil their dream of a vacation to far-off corners of the globe, the Far East remains popular,” said Richard Meadows, Holland America’s executive vice president of marketing, sales & guest programs. “From overland tours to the Bagan temples to a chance to see the famed Komodo dragon, the length and diversity of our Asia cruises make them a truly unique experience.”
ms Volendam will arrive in Singapore in late November 2014, following a voyage from Sydney, via Indonesia. Once based in Singapore, it will sail a series of cruises around Southeast Asia, calling at ports in Malaysia, Thailand and Myanmar.
It will then sail to Hong Kong, via Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, and once in Hong Kong ms Volendam will offer a series of cruises to China, Japan and South Korea.
ms Rotterdam meanwhile, will embark in a 90-day ‘Passage to the Far East’ voyage, departing the Netherlands on 7 January 2015. Once in Asia, the ship will call at ports in India, Myanmar, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia, before sailing back via Sri Lanka and India.
