Star Pride christened in Barcelona

Windstar Cruises’ newest ship Star Pride was christened in Barcelona earlier this week after its transformation.
The ship was launched by godmother Nancy Anschutz, the wife of Philip who is owner of Xanterra Parks & Resorts, Windstar’s parent company.
Its public spaces, dining venues and suites have all been updated with each of the Owner’s Suites now showcasing a signature Windstar destination.
Star Pride will spend the summer in the Mediterranean before heading to Asia and Arabia for new itineraries in the autumn.
“Star Pride is the first of the three small luxury cruise ships added to the Windstar yacht fleet, and it leads the way as Windstar enters a new era of small ship cruising,” said Hans Birkholz, chief executive officer of Windstar Cruises.
The second new ship Star Legend will be introduced on 25 May 2015 in Rome, while Star Breeze will follow.
All three vessels have 212 capacity.
