Starwood Hotels & Resorts will open Indonesia’s first ever Four Points by Sheraton hotel next year.

Scheduled to launch in May 2015, the Four Points by Sheraton Makassar will be located on Jalan Landak Baru, in the centre of Sulawesi’s largest city.  Featuring two towers, the hotel will offer 261 rooms, a swimming pool, fitness centre, restaurant and free Wi-Fi.

It will also include the largest convention centre in Makassar, with two ballrooms and 16 meeting rooms, totalling 6,500m² of floor space.

“As Southeast Asia’s largest economy and the world’s fourth most populous country, Indonesia is one of the fastest growth markets for Starwood, and we look forward to opening our first hotel in the capital of South Sulawesi province,” said Chuck Abbott,  Starwood’s regional vice president for Southeast Asia. “Four Points Makassar will provide a foothold for Starwood’s continued growth on this island.”

Starwood currently operates 14 properties in Indonesia under six of its nine brands, including St Regis, W, Luxury Collection, Sheraton, Westin and Le Meridien. It also has 10 properties in the pipeline, including the Westin Ubud Resort & Spa in Bali, which will open later this year.

Four Points by Sheraton Makassar will become Starwood’s first hotel on the island of Sulawesi.
