Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has opened four new hotels and signed deals for two others, as it continues to expand its portfolio across the Asia Pacific region.
The company has boosted its upscale Radisson Blu portfolio with new hotels in Bangkok and Rajasthan, as well as adding a new standard Radisson hotel in Hyderabad and a Park Plaza hotel in Chandigarh. It has also signed management contracts for two new Country Inn & Suites properties in India.
“Leveraging on our 2013 successes, the first four months of this year has shown strong successes in India and Thailand,” said Thorsten Kirschke, Carlson Rezidor’s president for Asia Pacific.
“[In the] next few months we will continue to grow our hotel portfolio and strengthen our position in these emerging markets as well as in Indonesia and China. Today, we have 95 operating hotels and by year end, we will have more than 100 hotels in operation across the Asia Pacific region,” he added.
The new Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok is a 290-room hotel in the centre of the Thai capital’s Sukhumvit district, while the Radisson Blu Udaipur Palace Resort & Spa is a 240-key property located on the banks of Fateh Sagar Lake in Ambamata, Rajasthan.
Also in India, the Radisson Hyderabad Hitec City is a 202-room hotel located close to the Hyderabad International Convention Centre, while the Park Plaza Zirakpur is a 100-room midscale hotel in Chandigarh, north India.
The two new Country Inn & Suites properties, located in Uttar Pradesh and Chandigarh, will both open in 2017, adding 150 rooms to Carlson Rezidor’s Indian portfolio.
