Abu Dhabi is gearing up for the biennial Abacus International Conference (AIC). The emirate is fast carving a niche in the MICE segment. The event is expected to attract attendance from over 500 of Asia Pacific’s travel industry professionals at the Yas Marina Circuit on Yas Island.
The decision to hold the conference in UAE follows a joint bid by Abu Dhabi Convention Bureau and Etihad Airways.
AIC will see delegates and panellist discuss and debate latest technological innovations around travel, in the context of trends now driving booking behaviour across 31 regional markets.
“The Middle East’s aviation brands are now themselves trending in Asia Pacific, with the region’s hubs attracting over ten-fold increases in bookings on popular routes, year-on-year. Abu Dhabi is the right setting to talk about ground breaking growth and enterprise,” said Robert Bailey, president and CEO for Abacus.
The three-day event will also focus on retail strategies, expand big data’s role and showcase the latest automation tools.
