Centara Hotels & Resorts will officially open its new resort in Sri Lanka this month.
A grand opening ceremony will be held for the Centara Ceysands Resort & Spa Sri Lanka on 29 May 2014, which is expected to be attended by Sri Lanka’s President, Mahinda Rajapksa.
Located on the Bentota Peninsula, on the southwest coast of the island, the new resort will only be accessible by a short two-minute boat ride. The property features 165 rooms and suites, including family residences, plus three F&B outlets, a spa, fitness centre, swimming pool, water sports centre and a kids’ club. It will also offer a range of indoor and outdoor event space, along with a business centre.
“The opening of this beautiful new resort, set in one of Sri Lanka’s most outstanding tourism destinations, is a proud moment for us,” said Thirayuth Chirathivat, chief executive officer of Centara Hotels & Resorts.
“We view Sri Lanka as being of great potential for us, and the island is part of our strategy for developing our market in the Indian Ocean region.”
The resort is less than two hours’ drive from Colombo.
