Qatar Airways is trialling a new system that allows passengers to print their own baggage tags before arriving at the airport.
Designed as an extension of the airline’s online check-in solution, ‘My Q-Tag’ enables customers to print their own baggage tags at home, before proceeding directly to the web check-in bag drop counter at Doha’s new Hamad International Airport (HIA), where Qatar Airways staff will process the baggage.
The new system is currently available for passengers flying to 103 destinations from Doha.
“With the capacity to handle 8,700 customers per hour, HIA will provide a seamless, hassle-free experience to our passengers, from check-in to passport control and boarding,” said Qatar Airways’ CEO, Akbar Al Baker.
“Qatar Airways passengers will be thrilled to take advantage of our new My Q-Tag service, along with the comfort and functional design of the new airport.”
The HIA Passenger Terminal houses a total of 138 check-in counters and 34 self-check-in kiosks.
