Preferred Hotel Group recently held its first ever ‘E-Distribution and Revenue Management Workshop’ in New Delhi.

The three-day event, which took place from 11 to 13 June 2014, was attended by 27 executives from 19 different independent hotels across Preferred’s portfolio in South Asia and the Middle East, who were offered training and education in the areas of distribution, online marketing, reputation management and CRS practices.

The forum, which was held at Preferred member hotel The Imperial, was led by members of the company’s revenue management team and guest speakers who offered an overview of the sector’s latest trends.

Guest speakers included Rohit Manghnani, business head & vice president of hotels at Yatra, Deepesh Saxena, TripAdvisor’s territory manager for India, Narayan Rajan founder & CEO of iVista Digital Solutions, Ashish Kishore, country head for HRG Dnata, and Yogeesh Chandra, vice president of enterprise solutions at RateGain.

“As technology continues to evolve at an ever increasing rate, the impact and influence of online distribution channels have blurred the line between revenue management and online marketing roles,” said Saurabh Rai, Preferred’s area managing director for South Asia & Middle East.

“Hotels must now focus on the online journey of the guest and how various elements of internet and booking channels influence consumer decisions.

“The Preferred Hotel Group team in India conceptualized this workshop to help independent hotels understand how the constant evolution of the online market place influences the consumer perception of a hotel brand and how they can maximise their success in staying ahead of the competition,” he added.

Preferred Hotel Group currently has 21 member hotels in India.
