Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has signed a management contract for a new Radisson Blu-branded property in Chongqing.

The Radisson Blu Resort Chongqing BeiBei is a 280-room new-build hotel, located close to the Yuelai International Convention Center and several industrial zones. Scheduled for completion in 2015, the property will form part of a 222,000m² mixed-use development called Yishang Mountain Hot Spring Town, which includes a hot spring and spa, residences, retail space and leisure facilities.

Hotel facilities will include three restaurants, a lobby lounge, fitness centre, spa, indoor swimming pool and meeting space.

“Chongqing has emerged as one of China’s leading megacities and we are proud to be a part of its development as a tourism city in southwest China. We believe that Radisson Blu Resort Chongqing BeiBei, strategically located in the famed north hot spring site, can positively contribute to its tourism growth,” said Thorsten Kirschke, Carlson Rezidor’s president for Asia Pacific.

“This new deal underlies our strong commitment to China and strategic penetration of anchor markets in Asia Pacific.”

The Radisson Blu Resort Chongqing BeiBei will become Carlson Rezidor’s third hotel in Chongqing, following the Radisson Blu Sha Ping Ba and Radisson Blu Plaza Chongqing. The Radisson Chongqing Tongluo Canyon is currently under development and scheduled to open in 2018.
