Qatar Airways will increase capacity on its Perth route later this year, with the deployment of a larger aircraft.
Effective 1 October 2014, the Doha-based airline will switch the Perth route from a Boeing 777-200 to a Boeing 777-300, resulting in an increase of 1,064 weekly seats on the daily service, or 30% more than at present.
“Qatar Airways was very pleased to be able to expand our operations in Australia by adding Perth to our network of destinations just two years ago,” said the airline’s CEO, Akbar Al Baker.
“It has proven to be a very sound move as we have had great success with the route. And now, just two years later, we are already increasing our capacity to meet the needs of our Australian passengers.”
Qatar Airways first launched the Doha-Perth route in July 2012.
