DUNCAN ALEXANDER has been appointed vice president global alliances and partnerships at Illusions. He brings with him more than 20 years of experience in travel distribution and technology having worked in senior management positions at Mercator, the Official Airline Guides (OAG), SITA and Travelport GDS. Before joining Illusions, Duncan was director at The Travel Marketing Store which he founded with his partner.
GIANNI TRONZA has been appointed general manager for Switzerland at Etihad Airways. In his new role, Tronza will be based in Zurich, where he will lead the airline’s expanded commercial operations following introduction of daily flights to Zurich. He brings with him over of 15 years of experience in various senior positions, including regional sales director at American Airlines.
PAUL MC DONALD has been appointed director of sales and marketing at Grand Hyatt Muscat. He brings with him over 11 years of experience with Hyatt Hotels beginning his career with Grand Hyatt Dubai. Paul brings with him knowledge and expertise to Grand Hyatt Muscat from his many years of working in the region.
STEFAN VAN DER KRUYF has been appointed general manager at Dead Sea Spa Hotel Jordan. He brings with him over 30 years of experience working with renowned five-star hotel companies across the globe. In his new role, as general manager he spearheads day-to-day operations and management of the first hotel built at the Dead Sea which is going to mark its 25th anniversary in the coming year.
KHALED RASLAN has been appointed assistant director of sales at Ayla Bawadi in Al Ain. He will support the property in maximizing revenue and developing new sales strategies. Raslan brings with him 10 years of experience in groups, corporate and leisure sales from previous sales positions at TUI Group, Starwood Group, IHG as well as Holiday Express.
TARIQ ABOUDI has been appointed group director of human resources and training for Ayla Hotels. He brings with him over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Aboudi has also served as human resources and training manager at Sharjah Premiere Hotel & Resort and Jumeirah Rotana Hotel.
