TUI UK & Ireland has announced it is in consultation with agents over shift patterns and whether its stores should open 30 minutes later into the day.
A consultation with 300 of its smaller stores will start on Tuesday (9 September) to obtain views on the shops opening at 09.30 instead of 09.00.
Its proposals would also change the number and pattern of shifts that agents would work in the Thomson and First Choice shops.
The talks come as the company looks to become an online-driven business but keep its high street presence in place.
A statement from TUI said: “These proposals will ensure that the nationwide network of shops can be maintained whilst not compromising on the high levels of service currently delivered to customers, wherever they live in the country.
“Thomson retail staff are a valued and essential part of the business, and TUI UK & Ireland is committed to mitigating the impact on them if the proposed changes needed to modernise the retail operations are made.”
