Etihad Airways will add a second daily flight to Karachi, doubling its operations to Pakistan’s largest city.
Commencing on 18 November 2014, the new double daily service will offer departures from Abu Dhabi every day at 1600 and 2315. The return flights leave Karachi at 2200 and 0525.
The additional service will be operated using a two-class Airbus A320 aircraft configured to carry 136 passengers, with 16 seats in business class and 120 in economy. The extra flight will therefore add more than 1,900 weekly seats to the route.
“Since the commencement of services in November 2004, more than a million passengers have travelled with Etihad Airways to and from Karachi. The new double daily service underscores our commitment of strengthening our network through increased frequencies on routes where we see strong passenger demand,” said Kevin Knight, Etihad’s chief strategy & planning officer.
“We believe the new flights will enable Etihad Airways to provide guests with more convenient travel options and timings, support the growth of business and leisure traffic over Abu Dhabi, and offer better flight connections on the global network.”
These extra flights boost Etihad’s total operations in Pakistan to 46 weekly flights to four cities: Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar.
