Argentina’s national tourism board has completed a multi-city tour if India, in an effort to educate the local travel trade and boost arrivals from the country.
The National Institute of Tourism Promotion in Argentina (Inprotur) recently hosted seminars in Bengaluru, Kolkata and Mumbai, interacting directly with India’s leading tour operators, airline representatives, travel agents and the Indian media.
The events were held in cooperation with Inprotur’s Indian representative, Knack Marketing.
“We have been thrilled with the overwhelming response [to the events],” said Medha Sampat, director of Knack. “The interactive seminars provide a great opportunity to meet and present the innovative product to the Indian travel trade. With the diverse portfolio the positioning strategy varies for each product. Each product is unique and special.
“[These seminars] will help explain the different Argentine destinations in depth to create a better understanding and develop the right perception about the country,” he added.
Enrique Meyer, Argentina’s Minister of Tourism and president of Inprotur, said the Indian roadshow provided a “superb platform to promote and showcase the attractions of the country”.
“We are positive that this will increase the tourist arrivals from India into Argentina,” he added.
