SpiceJet introduced a new self-booking tool for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs).
The ‘SME Traveller’ initiative has been designed to address the needs of business travellers working for smaller independent companies in India. It offers discounted fares of up to 10%, reward points, a simplified booking process and post-booking reports.
“SME Traveller is aimed to target nearly 70-100 million [SMEs] in the country who contribute to 8% of the country’s GDP,” said Kaneswaran Avili, chief commercial officer of SpiceJet.
“SMEs are also credited in contributing to 36% of the total value of exports from the Country and the sector has recorded a constant year-on-year growth of over 10% thereby making this sector the backbone of Country’s economy. Hence we definitely see a business need to reach out to this section,” he added.
SpiceJet becomes the first airline in India to introduce a dedicated and travel management platform for SMEs. This follows the recent launch of a new business traveller fare option, called SpiceMax.
