AirAsia is launching a new route to Myanmar’s capital, Nay Pyi Taw.
The new direct service from Kuala Lumpur will commence on 10 November 2014, with flights operating daily using a 180-seat Airbus A320 aircraft.
This route marks AirAsia Malaysia’s second destination in Myanmar, after Yangon. It will also mark the first direct air route between Kuala Lumpur and Nay Pyi Taw.
“We are committed to connecting communities in this region and establishing direct flights from Kuala Lumpur to the burgeoning capital of Nay Pyi Taw,” said Tony Fernandes, AirAsia’s group CEO.
“AirAsia has the widest network coverage throughout ASEAN and beyond and we are proud to be the only airline that flies you direct to Nay Pyi Taw from Kuala Lumpur.”
Thai AirAsia already connects Nay Pyi Taw with Bangkok.
