Belmond adds new Asian rail journeys

Belmond, the company formerly known as Orient Express, has unveiled a two new luxury train journeys through Southeast Asia for 2015.
The Eastern & Oriental Express train will operate two brand new itineraries next year, including the five-night ‘Fables of the Peninsula’ journey from Singapore to Bangkok on 29 March 2015, and the two-night ‘The Ancient Temples of Lanna’ journey from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, which departs on 15 October 2015.
‘Fables of The Peninsula’ starts with a stay at the Raffles Singapore, before guests embark on a five-night train journey through Malaysia and Thailand. En route, guests will be able to explore Kuala Lumpur, the Cameron Highlands, Penang and the Thai island of Koh Chaan, before finishing in Bangkok.
‘Ancient Temples of Lanna’ meanwhile, is an overnight journey from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. This includes a visit to Lampang, a tour of Chiang Mai and Thai cookery demonstrations.
Both journeys will be taken aboard the Eastern & Oriental Express train, which can accommodate 132 guests and features three dining carriages, a bar and observation deck.
