Malaysian airline Firefly has launched a new service that allows passengers to bring meals aboard its aircraft.
Under the novel ‘Firefly Express Meal’ scheme, passengers can pre-book their meals online and then collect them from Circle K – an F&B outlet at the Subang Skypark Airport, Firefly’s home base.
Five hot meal options are available – chicken rice, nasi lemak ayam goreng, spaghetti Bolognese, spaghetti mamak and macaroni cheese.
“What sets this service apart from other carriers is that customers can choose to eat their meals before boarding their flight or have it onboard,” explained Firefly’s chief executive officer, Ignatius Ong.
“We understand the importance of in-flight meal is to enhance overall travel experience, hence ensure our continuous efforts in improving our initiatives from this aspect. We hope Firefly Express Meal will be made available for flights departing from all airports that Firefly operates in within the next few months,” he added.
Firefly will continue to serve complimentary cold refreshments onboard all its flights.
