InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has moved to enhance its family credentials with a new partnership aimed at offering professional nanny services at its global portfolio of hotels.
For the next two years, the luxury InterContinental Hotels & Resorts brand will partner with Norland College, which will provide all properties with expert guidance on babysitting and staff recruitment.
The new collaboration is the latest in a series of measures taken to boost the brand’s family offerings, under its ‘Planet Trekkers by InterContinental’ children’s programme.
“At IHG, we are constantly listening to our guests to ensure we are meeting and exceeding their travel needs. For our InterContinental brand, we know that families who stay with us look for our help in keeping their children happily entertained with fun opportunities to learn about the world. We couldn’t wish for a better partner than Norland to help us ensure families feel welcomed, entertained and looked after,” said Simon Scoot, vice president of global brands for InterContinental Hotels & Resorts.
Founded in 1982, Norland College specialises in childcare services and is famous for its ‘Norland Nannies’.
“Norland is committed to providing premium training and consultancy with the ultimate aim of positively impacting on children’s lives. We are delighted to work with InterContinental Hotels & Resorts to enhance their babysitting services,” said Liz Hunt, principal of Norland College.
Planet Trekkers by InterContinental is a programme of tailored services for families with children aged 4-12. It also includes a new global children’s menu developed by celebrity chef, Theo Randall, and children’s food expert Annabel Karmel MBE.
