Singapore-based low-cost carrier Scoot has revealed that it will launch its first flights to Melbourne next year.

Commencing on 1 November 2015, the airline will use its brand new Boeing 787 Dreamliner on the direct Singapore-Melbourne route. Flights will run five times a week.

“We’ve heard loud and clear the demands of Scoot to fly to Melbourne, and we’re delighted to finally be able to answer them,” said Campbell Wilson, the airline’s CEO. “Melbourne… has long been on our radar and the arrival of our new Boeing 787s gives us the chance to add it to our network.”

Scoot’s Dreamliners will be configured in a two-class layout with economy and ‘ScootBiz’ cabins. All passengers will be offered Wi-Fi and in-seat power sockets.

Melbourne will become Scoot’s fourth destination in Australia, following Sydney, Perth and Gold Coast.
