Boeing expects to deliver a record number of commercial aircraft to China this year.
The US planemaker expects Chinese airlines to receive 150-160 Boeing jets in 2014, up from 143 last year.
These new arrivals have included new Boeing 787 Dreamliners for China Southern Airlines, Xiamen Airlines and Hainan Airlines, a new fleet of B777-300ERs for China Eastern, and the country’s first ever B747-8 Intercontinental, delivered to Air China.
“Boeing’s strategy in China will serve China’s national strategy as well as the demand from Chinese customers. We not only sell aircraft in China, but we also support the future development of safety and efficiency in China’s aviation industry,” said Ian Thomas, president of Boeing China.
Boeing has also delivered multiple single-aisle jets to smaller Chinese carriers this year, including Shandong Airlines, Kunming Airlines and Shenzhen Airlines, plus start-up Ruili Airlines.
