Seychelles tourism charts marginal profits

The last year was a mixed bag in terms of tourism performance for Seychelles Tourism.
The tourism authority of the destination announced that the year was closed with a one percent increase in tourism arrivals. However, there was ad dip in the tourism earning with an eight percent drop.
In 2014, 232,667 visitors were welcomed by Seychelles compared to 230,272 in 2013. Tourism earnings slid to US$315million in 2014, compared to US$343 m in 2013. The previous year was pretty good for the tourism Industry. Seychelles scored a record high in tourism arrivals – 230,272 in 2013 compared to 208,034 in 2012. Tourism earnings jumped from US$310.3 m in 2012 to US$343.6 m in 2013, and Seychelles set a forecast of closing 2014 with a five percent increase.
The month of April was the strongest in terms of tourism arrivals, retrograded to second position. October took over as the dominant month, with 23,312 visitors – 197 more arrivals than the second best of April.
The top performing markets for the destination in 2014 were France which took the lead followed by Germany, China, South Africa, India, UAE and Russia.
