Travel Indochina has rebranded to Insider Journeys in a move to better reflect its product offering.
The tour operator has been operating under its current brand for 21 years but on 2 February will become Insider Journeys, with a brochure also ready to be distributed to agents.
The brand has also adopted the strapline ‘Imagine the Stories’ and will use immersive images and strong colours in its collateral moving forward.
Speaking to journalists ahead of the launch on Friday, Lesley Wright, general manager commercial UK at Insider Journeys said the name had come from considering its product offering and customer feedback.
“We are really excited to reveal this brand and there is a renewed energy around it. We used the feedback from our customers to have a relook at the experiences that we offer and think about how we are operating today,” she explained. “Our new brand aims to focus on the positive advocacy, insider experiences, the romance of travel and the emotion behind it. It’s also about geographical perception, as our tours had grown beyond Indochina to 11 destinations in Asia [including China, Bhutan, Burma and India].”
While currently remaining an Asia specialist Wright did not rule out expansion to other destinations in the future as a result of the name change.
“Currently our focus is getting the word out but this does open up the opportunities for new destinations. We know the style of travel we offer in small groups works but Asia is our focus area for now,” Wright added.
The operator’s business development managers will be on the road talking to agents about the name change in the coming weeks. A new tailor-made brochure is also due out in March with suggested itineraries.
To mark the launch the company is offering agents the chance to win places on a fam trip to Indochina. Agents that book an Insider Journeys Small Group Journey, Asia river cruise or tailor-made itinerary to Vietnam, Cambodia or Laos will be entered into a prize draw to win a multi-centre trip to the three destinations. Each booking counts as another entry and ex-UK flight bookings with Vietnam Airlines will also count as an entry.
