More comfort accommodation options will be made available in Acacia Africa’s programme this year, it has revealed.

The Africa specialist has expanded its comfort options in East Africa following the success of the programme launch in southern Africa last year.

Arno Delport, sales and marketing manager said: “Not all youth travellers are looking to rough it and many are happy to upgrade to enjoy that extra level of comfort. Our southern Africa accommodated overland expeditions launched in June 2014 and based on the encouraging response, in what was a challenging year, we expanded the collection to cover East Africa.”

He added that the operator predicts multi-generational family holidays will continue to grow in popularity this year with parents keen to spend quality time with children. Traditional safari destinations are likely to be the best-sellers. Outside of the family market active holidays are seeing a rise in demand such as walking safaris or extreme activities, while others are continuously looking for more cultural immersion and meeting local people. Acacia Africa has worked with several organisations including the SoftPower project in Uganda and Inkululeko Township Tours in Cape Town.
