Starwood Hotels & Resorts has signed its first Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Bali.

Scheduled to open in May 2015, the new-build Four Points by Sheraton Bali Kuta will be located on Jalan Benesari, close to Kuta Beach.

The property will feature 186 rooms, ranging from 28-55m², plus a restaurant, rooftop club, lobby bar and beer garden. Other facilities include a fitness centre, kids’ club and 180m² of meeting space.

“The signing of Four Points by Sheraton Bali Kuta enhances Starwood’s footprint and multi-brand growth strategy in [Indonesia],” said Rajit Sukumaran, Starwood’s vice president of acquisition & development. “We are confident that Four Points by Sheraton will fulfill travellers’ demand for contemporary, mid-market accommodations in Bali.”

The Bali property will be the first Four Points hotel to open in Indonesia, but it will be followed by several more over the next two years, with new projects planned in Makassar, Surabaya and Bandung.

It also becomes Starwood’s seventh property in Bali, with another two – Westin Ubud and The Saraswati, a Luxury Collection Resort – scheduled to open by 2016.
