Cox & Kings has reported a 17% increase in sales through the trade in January compared to the same month last year.

The operator said last month was its best for sales through travel agents, with both tailor-made and escorted tour options proving popular.

Its passenger numbers through the trade are up 38% for the same period, particularly to India, Peru, Cuba and Vietnam.

“We are delighted to have had our best ever month for sales through travel agents. It is a great sign that our commitment to working closely with the trade and supporting our key business partners is paying off. New initiatives such as our Rewards and Ambassador schemes have also helped to boost agent loyalty,” said Greg Thurston, agency sales manager.

He added: “The feedback we have had from agents is that they have seen a growth in their long-haul business and need an expert operator that can deliver quality itineraries at reasonable prices. As we see the escorted touring market grow we are benefitting from being able to offer agents a unique product featuring small groups, high quality accommodation and great value prices.”
