Qatar Airways has unveiled plans to launch three new destinations in Pakistan.
This summer, the Doha-based airline will start flying to Sialkot, Faisalabad and Multan, all of which lie in the Punjab region of eastern Pakistan.
This marks a significant expansion for the airline in Pakistan, boosting its operations from 45 weekly flights to four cities, to 55 flights to seven cities.
“We have had a well-established operation in Pakistan for many years, but have always been looking to expand more, and now thanks to new agreements in place between the relevant authorities we will soon enjoy significantly greater capacity between Qatar and Pakistan,” said Qatar Airways’ group CEO, Akbar Al Baker.
“These three new routes offer a significantly enhanced offering for our passengers to and from Pakistan and we look forward to welcoming them onboard.”
The expansion will commence on 16 July 2015 when Qatar Airways launches four weekly flights (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays) to Sialkot. Then a day later on 17 July, it will start a new three-times-a-week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) service to Faisalabad. Finally on 1 August 2015, Qatar Airways will launch three weekly flights (Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays) to Multan.
All three routes will be operated using a 144-seat, two-class Airbus A320 aircraft.
Qatar Airways first started flying to Pakistan in 1995 and currently operates services to Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar.
