RAJ MENON has been named as Marriott International‘s new chief operations officer for Southeast Asia & the Pacific. Menon first joined Marriott in 2001 as general manager of the Renaissance Mumbai, and for the past seven years he has served as the group’s area vice president for South Asia.
AMIT ARORA has been named as Egencia’s new country director for India. Arora joins Expedia’s business travel unit with 17 years’ experience. He previously served as Etihad Airways’ head of commercial & operations for north and east India and head of client management at American Express Business Travel.
TARIK TEMUCIN has been promoted to the role of general manager at the Ritz-Carton Beijing. Temucin’s career with Ritz-Carlton began 14 years ago in the F&B department at the Ritz-Carlton Istanbul. Having worked at hotels in Singapore and Sanya, he was then appointed hotel manager of the Ritz-Carlton Beijing.
SARAH-JANE TEMPEST has become HRS‘ new director of corporate solutions for Asia Pacific, based in Singapore. Ms Tempest joins the hotel solutions provider with 25 years’ experience in corporate travel and expense management, including spells with American Express, Carlson Wagonlit Travel, Galileo and British Airways.
CHARLES TAN has joined HRS as the company’s new global account manager for Asia Pacific. He joins the company from Global Travel, a Singapore-based corporate travel management company, where he served as general manager for corporate sales. Tan will continue to be based in Singapore.
LINLY HENG has been appointed director of sales & marketing for Le Royal Méridien Shanghai and Starwood‘s area director of sales & marketing for east China, with responsibility for 40 hotels. A Singaporean national, Ms Heng previously held a similar role for Starwood’s properties on Hainan Island.
MARIA KORMENTZA has become Pan Pacific‘s new director of learning & talent development. A Greek national, Ms Kormentza joins the hotel group from Singapore Airlines where she spent 14 years in the commercial training & development division. She will now be located at Pan Pacific’s Singapore head office.
MATTHEW FAULL has been appointed senior vice president of information technology & e-commerce at Swiss-Belhotel International. A New Zealand national, Faull initially joined Swiss-Belhotel in 2012. Prior to this, he served as senior vice president of ValueCommerce Japan, a Yahoo-owned company.
FERNANDO TRUMP has been announced as the new executive chef at the Alila Villas Soori in Bali. Chef Fernando hails from Argentina, where he gained experience at the El Bistro restaurant at Faena Hotel & Universe. He has also worked in France, Switzerland and Hungary, and at the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
