Abu Dhabi gears up for USTOA delegation visit

The emirate of Abu Dhabi is gearing up to welcome a delegation from the United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA).

The delegation is due to arrive later this month for a 10-day mission to learn more about cultural and attractions in the emirate and across UAE.

The 40-strong delegation will be in the country from 19-29 March to its Board of Directors 2015 Out-of-Country Meeting in Abu Dhabi.

Mubarak Al Nuaimi, director of promotions and overseas offices, at TCA Abu Dhabi said: “The United States is an extremely important target for us for inbound visitors, being our fourth largest international source market. In 2014, 37% more visitors from the US arrived in Abu Dhabi. There are currently 45 flights a week to Abu Dhabi from Washington DC, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Dallas/Ft.”

Last year saw 123,196 guest arrivals from United States, generating 609,556 guest nights. This made the Americans the longest staying guests with an average length of stay of just under five nights.

Terry Dale, president and CEO of USTOA said: “Our membership has long felt that Abu Dhabi represents a huge market potential for both the US and our host country. This opportunity to showcase all of their assets will deliver great returns for our partners.”
