Princess Cruises has announced that 49 Southeast Asian travel agents have graduated from its training programme, Princess Academy.
The agents have achieved Commodore level – the highest achievable ranking in the cruise company’s online training scheme. All 49 received a diploma and will also be rewarded with a free cruise.
“We are immensely proud of all the 2014 Princess Academy graduates and their dedication to the industry. Travel agents are one of our most important partners and we look forward to another year of working closely with them to bring premium cruise experiences to the region,” said Farriek Tawfik, Princess Cruises’ director for Southeast Asia.
“We will continue to invest resources and develop the best tools to grow the local and regional cruise industry,” he added.
The Princess Academy follows the naval tradition of promoting through the ranks, from First Officer, Staff Captain, Captain, to Commodore status. In order to rise to the next level, agents need to pass five training modules. In 2014, a total of 49 Commodores, 23 First Officers, 21 Staff Captains and 14 Captains graduated from Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
Princess Cruises will be launching its second homeporting season in Southeast Asia this year, offering 16 sailings in the region.
