China Eastern Airlines will add more flights to North America this summer, including connections from key cities in western China.
On 25 June 2015, the airline will add a second daily flight between Shanghai and Vancouver, which will continue onwards to and from Kunming, the capital of southwest China’s Yunnan province, on three days of the week (Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays).
The new daily 2350 departure from Shanghai to Vancouver will complement China Eastern’s existing 1330 outbound flight.
Then five days later on 30 June, China Eastern will launch a brand new thrice weekly service (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays) between to Los Angeles from Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province. This route will operate with a stop in Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu province.
China Eastern will become the second airline to link Chengdu with the US, following United Airlines, which will increase its direct San Francisco-Chengdu service from three weekly flights to daily between May and October this year.
China Eastern will deploy an Airbus A330 aircraft on both the Vancouver and Los Angeles routes.
