International visitor arrivals to Bali continued to show strong growth in the first quarter of 2015.
According to the latest official data, the Indonesian resort island welcomed 948,393 overseas visitors in January-March 2015, 14.0% more than the 831,625 recorded in the same period last year.
Australia remains Bali’s largest source market, contributing 237,738 visitors in Q1 2015, up 14.6% year-on-year. China was second with 193,282 visitors, up 28.0% compared to last year, while arrivals from Japan rebounded strongly, with 59,392 arrivals representing year-on-year growth of 29.9%. Malaysia (-2.1% to 45,607) and South Korea (+15.9% to 39,533) completed the top five.
The UK was Bali’s largest European source market in the first quarter, contributing 29,402 arrivals, up 14.6% year-on-year.
Bali welcomed a total of 3.76 million overseas visitors last year, up 14.9% compared to 2013, and the island is now on track to exceed four million arrivals in 2015.
