A recent report by Jones Lang LaSalle stated that Saudi Arabia leads the Middle East in terms of number of Internet and Social Media users.

This report was unveiled and discussed at the Hotel Show Saudi Arabia 2015. As per the report, Jeddah and Riyadh alone will see an increase of 16,000 new hotel rooms by 2018. Over 50% of these will be five-star developments.

Accor HotelServices Middle East has 14 hotels in Saudi Arabia and plans to open 26 new hotels, bringing the total Accor network in KSA by 2018 to 40 hotels.

Christophe Landais, chief operating officer for Accor HotelServices Middle East, said: “As the digital stratosphere is growing at a very high pace, an ever-increasing number of customers are opting for online channels. This trend is catching on particularly quickly in Saudi Arabia, where internet and smartphone penetration rates are among the highest.”
