airBaltic launches first routes outside its home market

Latvian national airline airBaltic has launched two new direct routes linking Frankfurt and Dortmund with the German Island of Usedom in the Baltic Sea, marking the first time the airline has offered direct flights between destinations that are both outside of the Baltic States.
“The opening of these new routes linking Frankfurt and Dortmund with Usedom Island is an important occasion for airBaltic, as it paves the way for our expansion into the Baltic Sea region,” said Christophe Viatte, airBaltic’s chief commercial officer.
airBaltic flies once a week from Frankfurt and Dortmund to Heringsdorf, Usedom Island using Bombardier Q400 NextGen aircraft. A check-in fee will not apply on these flights and passengers will be offered a complimentary drink and snack while on board. The price of a one-way ticket for both destinations starts at €149, including airport fees and transaction costs.
